Temperature overshoot on iHeater and the need for PID tuning

Heater 89/74 — does that mean the triac isn’t turning off, or is the PID just tuned with too much overshoot?

Yeah. It’s just that the temperature keeps rising… it already got to 69. I turned it off so the PETG wouldn’t stick together. So I need to do PID calibration?
It’s a bit confusing, because 65/65 has already been reached, the heater is set to 74, but it still heated up to 89. Then I waited some more and it was 68/65 and 90/72.

If it turns off, then the triac is fine. Try calibrating the PID.

Если выключается, с симистором все ок. Пробуй пиды калибровать.

ok, I’ll try. I didn’t set any delta value though. And the default PID is set. But for some reason the overshoot is like this.

ок, попробую. Я ведь дельту не ставил никакую. и Пид по умолчанию стоит. но почему-то такой перелёт.

The default PID is the one @kuzyatheslayer (https://t.me/kuzyatheslayer) used for experiments, so it may work, but it’s not guaranteed to.

Пид по умолчанию тот что @kuzyatheslayer (https://t.me/kuzyatheslayer) ставил для экспериментов, т.е. он может работать, но не обязан.
