Printing with composites: is a 0.4 nozzle enough or is 0.6 better

Hey everyone :call_me_hand: does it make sense to get a 0.6 nozzle for printing composites? Or is 0.4 enough and it won’t get clogged with bits of the composite?

If it’s GF, especially GF30, then it probably will! If it’s carbon, the particles are small, so probably not.

It depends on the material itself, the batch, and the hotend itself.

I print everything with a CHT Unicorn 0.4 and haven’t had any clogs so far :rofl:

So if the filament manufacturer says 0.4 and up, then I guess there’s nothing to worry about.

Small doesn’t always mean it’ll pass through better. Some FDplast stuff clogged one for some people. That stuff can agglomerate in there.

Мелкий не всегда значит лучше пролезет. Вн у некоторых ФДпластовский засорял. Онож там может агломерироваться
