I asked about the PCB layout too, which turned out not to be open, and was politely sent to the docs. An answer like that would’ve been clearer, instead I had to dig through the docs for the reply.
Let me explain my POV.
I saw a video by some twitchy dude messing with Sovols together with his nephew, about the Unit. Went looking.
What’s confusing is the lack of separation between X and Unit. It’s not clear that one is fully open while the other only has the enclosure open.
OF COURSE, I see no reason at all for you to open the source files, although there are different ways to monetize intellectual work. I remember that Chinese ksger “soldering station” eventually got fully reverse-engineered, but the firmware still wouldn’t run without a certain key.
What specifically got me going was that I really needed to dry filament. I saw your creation. Realized it was the best thing I’d seen (I was genuinely blown away by the capabilities compared to those Chinese under-dryers that do 55 degrees max )). It’s NOT available for sale, no clue when it will be. I looked at the board, saw familiar components, decided to try building it from off-the-shelf modules, and asked whether the board schematic was open. If I had the schematic, I would’ve routed a board for the parts I already have. 0402 doesn’t bother me; with enough experience, 0.2 traces can be done with ordinary toner transfer. I think people without tweezers ) don’t even know the word “sources.”
Apparently I don’t know how to read docs, since I didn’t immediately get that only X is open. The video doesn’t say either that the open Dryer X grew into the CLOSED Unit. It just says it evolved.

Увидел ролик какого-то чувака дерганного, который с племянником Sovol’ы ковыряет, про Юнит. Пошел искать.
Сбивает с толку отсутствие разделение Х от Юнита. Не понятно, что один открыт полностью, а у второго только корпус.
КОНЕЧНО, Вам ни какого резона открывать исходники не вижу, хотя есть разные способы монетизации умственного труда. Помню “паяльная станция” китайская от ksger была со временем отревершена полностью, но прошивку было не запустить без определенного ключика.
Конкретно мне приспичило высушить пластик. Увидел Ваше творение. Понял, что это лучшее из всего, что видел (реально охренел от возможностей по сравнению с кетайскими недосушилками 55 градусов )). В продаже НЕТ, когда будет хз. Посмотрел на плату, увидел знакомые компоненты, решил попробовать собрать из готовых модулей, задал вопрос об открытости схемы платы. Имея схему развел бы плату под имеющиеся компоненты. 0402 не смущает, дорожки 02 при должном опыте обычным лутом можно сделать. Думаю люди без пинцетов ) не знают слова “исходники”.
Видимо не умею читать доки, раз сразу не въехал, что открыт только Х. В ролике тоже не говориться, что открытый драер х перерос в ЗАКРЫТЫЙ юнит. Говорится, что просто перерос.
