It’ll start, it’ll just show zeros, but not 100% sure, I haven’t tested what happens if you do that), easier to just change it in the firmware so it knows there are no scales, or solder the scale wires back in place

Just don’t resolder it, mine is like that too. In the firmware set the number of scales to 0, and you can choose Russian language too. Just don’t forget to calibrate the BME afterward, otherwise it won’t get those last 2 degrees
Просто не рипаивай, у меня так, в прошивке укажи еоличество весов 0 и можешь выбрать русский язык, не забудь потом откалибровать БМЕ, иначе 2 градуса никак не добирапт

Not from 5.2, no. The ATmega can handle even 5.5. Did you maybe flip the connector 180 degrees while flashing? That’s enough. Which chip is heating up, the MCU or the LDO?
От 5.2 нет. Атмега и в 5.5 могет. При прошивке случайно развернул разъем на 180 и этого достаточно. Какой чип греется, МК или лдо?
