So what’s it going to be? Are we talking about a backpack for the Pi or some separate project?

About the backpack. But I’m still waiting for the power supply. Need to come up with some kind of mounting plate for it in the ass end too.

I could’ve taken power inside, above the LAN ports, from the 220V connector, but the dryer won’t always be plugged in, and the host should either stay on all the time or boot up every time it’s turned on?.
I want a button breaking the phase line to turn the dryer itself on, while the host keeps running. By the way, what if I install Proxmox on the Pi, then Armbian on top of it, that way I could also allocate the remaining power somewhere.
As for the power supply, I test-fitted it and it doesn’t fit in the dryer’s compartment itself. Otherwise it would’ve been convenient to just throw the wires into the Pi, especially since it’s right behind the wall.

Можно было внутри, над lan портами, питание взять с разъёма 220, но сушилка не всегда в розетке будет, хост будет всегда жить или подниматься при каждом вкл?.
Я хочу кнопку в разрыв фазы на вкл самой сушилки, а хост пусть живёт. Кстати, а что если поставить проксмокс на пишку, на него армбиан, так еще можно куда-то оставшуюся мощность распределить.
Касаемо блока я примерял у меня не помещается в отсеке самой сушилки, так бы было удобно выкинуть проводки в пишу, тем более она за стенкой.
If it’s that critical, I can just slap the PSU onto the board and the MCU will have its own power altogether. The only question is whether it’s actually needed

If we look at it in the context of dryer+printer, then yeah, right now it really is needed, but if we’re building a standalone setup, then that’s already a different device.

Если оно так критично, то я могу присрать бп к плате и вообще мцу будет со своим питанием. Вот только нужно ли оно🤷♂️.
Если рассматривать в контексте сушилка+принтер, то оно сейчас именно что нужно, а если городить standalone, то это уже другое устройство.

Not critical, just personal wishlist stuff, only within the scope of what I want. Ideally the project should stay within the actual goals, everything else is just extra tinkering for a specific person’s wants.

Yeah, I agree here — for a stand-alone version you’d need a different board where the MCU power line routing is redone for the PSU, the board topology reconsidered with room for a switching PSU and host inside the enclosure, the USB-C interface moved inside for convenience, plus various LEDs and switches.

Тут соглашусь, под stand-alone нужна другая плата в которой трассировка линий питания mcu будет переделана на БП, пересмотрена топология платы с расчетом на наличие в корпусе импульсника и хоста, вынесен интерфейс usb-c внутрь для удобства + всякие лампочки и выключатели
Then that’s already a different price point, not many people will want those kinds of bells and whistles for, say, 7k+ considering you still have to print the case yourself. Not many will appreciate it, and in the current setup we have a base that works for everyone, while the “weirdos” have a platform for modding.

Тогда это уже другая стоимость, мало кто захочет такие изыски например за 7+к с учетом, что корпус самому печатать, оценят не многие, а в рамках текущего положения имеем базу которая всем угодна, а у “извращенцев” есть плацдарм для доработок
